A Bahamian entrepreneur is branching out on her hair and scalp care product, first having it on the shelves in CVS pharmacies across the US to now and will be launching with JC Penny by next week.

Sherrel Fountain-Sampson, founder of Canviiy, a US-based cosmetic provider, told Caribbean Magazine Plus that: “Canviiy’s launch in CVS is going extremely well, exceeding both ours and CVS’s expectations. Consumers have gravitated to Canviiy’s organic based solutions as over the past year they have sought more natural solutions for their hair and scalp care. CVS has been a great partner for us as it has made Canviiy even more accessible and we look forward to bringing the brand to even more neighborhoods near you.”

Sherrel was raised in Nassau, Bahamas by her grandparents as well as attended primary and secondary school in The Bahamas.

She had extensive experience in the beauty and cosmetic industry before launching her own brand and deciding that she can do this business herself.

Building on the success of the CVS partnership, Ms Fountain-Sampson is not stopping there. In fact, she has major partnerships lined up. She said: “Building on our CVS success, we can now be found in other retailers such as Meijer and Harmon Face Values. Additionally, I am proud to say that we will be launching this week in JC Penny, a retailer that is showing commitment to shelve more BIOPIC brands and to ensure that the beauty landscape is more inclusive.

“In 2015, I experienced an unbearable itchy scalp that would not go away. After trying disappointing market products, this sparked the desire to formulate botanical-based scalp care products that address the root of the problem for millions of people. That wish became a passion, and that passion became a purpose for the Canviiy team, to craft a one-of-a-kind formulation to calm scalp irritation. With a team of organic experts and a strong desire for a perfect product, Canviiy pioneered the ScalpBliss™ Collection, proven to offer the most long-lasting (hours to days) organic-based scalp irritation solutions on the market today.”

The first week in November would make it Canviiy’s 6 year anniversary and they are celebrating Ms Fountain-Sampson said. “We are going to relaunch the website, adding new features and increasing the shoppability. Additionally we are encouraging everyone to sign up for our email newsletter, as we will be allowing our Canviiy Insiders to pre-order our new 2022 Innovation; our first Shampoo, conditioner and ultra-lightweight scalp balm. Enriched with organic turmeric and Sunflower Seed oil, these new products are amazing.

“Finally, we could not let our birthday go by without a flash sale, visit us at canviiy.com for more details. Don’t’ forget to sign up for our newsletter in the website footer to have access to our new SKUs”

Despite the upcoming celebrations, COVID-19 still looms large over the world. Ms Fountain-Sampson said: “COVID has definitely been a trying time for many and our thoughts and prayers are with those that are being personally affected.

“As we start to come out of COVID, we are seeing many consumers recommit to making better choices and for many that includes being more choiceful about using natural and organic ingredients. Across E-commerce, In-Store and Amazon, we are seeing many consumers discover Canviiy as a best in-class solution that delivers clean beauty without any trade-offs.

“They find it reassuring that Canviiy is used in premier institutions, like Moffitt Cancer Center, for its clean formulations and efficacy.”
