The act of rape is a most heinous crime. It robs the victim of their self-worth and demoralizes and dehumanizes them.
You can call me anything, a murderer, liar and even a thief- if the amount stolen matches my dignity- but to be labelled as a rapist is something that this editor cannot stomach.
The entire act reeks of desperation and callousness. The attacker themselves are sick and warped mentally.
With a murderer, you can make arguments that the victim attacked you first, even with a thief, there can be economic reasons for needing to have something that isn’t yours in order for you to survive, and liars, we often tell little white lies throughout our daily lives. But a rapist has no real excuse for not being able to get along with someone of the opposite sex to the point that they have to force someone to have sex with them.
I just don’t see the saving grace in a rapist.
