Dear members of our worldwide Grenadian Diaspora,

I hope this message finds you well and in a spirit of joy and gratefulness.

I wish to extend greetings and very best wishes to all our Diaspora citizens as we commemorate a significant milestone in the history of our beloved country, Grenada.

As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of our independence, it is a time for reflection, gratitude, and for the continuing unification of our people, always being conscious of staying focused, as we embrace the challenges and opportunities for the next 50 years.

Over the past half-century, Grenada has made remarkable progress in various aspects of nation-building. From the establishment of democratic institutions to the advancements in education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure, we have come a long way. This milestone would not have been possible without the contributions and support of our Diaspora community, working hand in hand with the residents of Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique.

The Grenadian Diaspora has been an integral part of our Nation’s success story.  Your dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment to the development of Grenada have been truly inspiring. Whether it is through remittances, investments, or sharing your expertise, your contributions have made a significant impact on the lives of our fellow Grenadians and those who live in Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

This anniversary is an opportunity for us to recognize and appreciate the achievements of our Diaspora community. It is a testament to the enduring bonds that connect us, regardless of the physical distance. Your continued support and engagement remain crucial as we strive to build an even brighter future for Grenada, under its new vision of a “transformation agenda”.

As we celebrate this momentous occasion, let us also remember the challenges that lie ahead. Together, we can address these challenges and work towards a prosperous and inclusive Grenada for all. I encourage you to remain actively involved in our nation’s growth, whether through advocacy, mentorship, philanthropy, investments, or just visiting your homeland.

On behalf of the government and people of Grenada, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to every one of you. Your contributions have made a lasting impact on our Nation, and we are forever grateful.

I look forward to the continued collaboration and partnership between Grenada and its Diaspora community. Together, we can build a brighter future for our beloved country.

Wishing you all in advance, a joyful celebration of Grenada’s 50th Anniversary of Independence, as we approach February 7, 2024, and continue a year-long period of celebrations.
