October 29, 2026 Year 6:Day 234
Truly the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, Psalm 33:18
CPWI 445 Hope Of The World…
1 Hope of the world, thou Christ of great compassion,
speak to our fearful hearts by conflict rent.
Save us, thy people, from consuming passion,
who by our own false hopes and aims are spent.
2 Hope of the world, God’s gift from highest heaven,
bringing to hungry souls the bread of life,
still let thy Spirit unto us be given
to heal earth’s wounds and end her bitter strife.
3 Hope of the world, afoot on dusty highways,
showing to wand’ring souls the path of light;
walk thou beside us, lest the tempting byways
lure us away from thee to endless night.
4 Hope of the world, who by thy cross didst save us
from death and dark despair, from sin and guilt;
we render back the love thy mercy gave us;
take thou our lives, and use them as thou wilt.
5 Hope of the world, O Christ o’er death victorious,
who by this sign didst conquer grief and pain,
we would be faithful to thy gospel glorious:
Thou art our Lord! Thou dost forever reign!
Hear us O Lord.
For your mercy is great.
We will exalt you, O God our Saviour.
And praise your name for ever and ever.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
As it was in the beginning is now; and shall be forever. Amen.
God our Father, we give you thanks for this brand new day, for the rest of the past night, for life and hope and possibilities. We praise you for who you are, ever loving, ever faithful, forgiving us our sins and renewing us in your grace and holiness. Grant that we may continue in your love and service; Through Jesus Christ our risen Lord, Amen.
PSALM 42:1 – 5
1 As a deer longs for flowing streams,
so my soul longs for you, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and behold the face of God?
3 My tears have been my food day and night,
while people say to me continually, ‘Where is your God?’
4 These things I remember, as I pour out my soul:
how I went with the throng, and led them in procession to the
house of God, with glad shouts and songs of thanksgiving,
a multitude keeping festival.
5 Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help 6 and my God.

A READING: Proverbs 24:13-
13 My child, eat honey, for it is good,
and the drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste.
14 Know that wisdom is such to your soul;
if you find it, you will find a future,
and your hope will not be cut off.
15 Do not lie in wait like an outlaw against the home of the righteous;
do no violence to the place where the righteous live;
16 for though they fall seven times, they will rise again;
but the wicked are overthrown by calamity.
The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to GOD.
[…increase in us the gifts of faith, hope, and charity;…
– HOPE –
Psalm and Proverbs speak to us about hope today. They remind us of who we hope in and His ability to deliver. They speak of Wisdom, The gift of the Spirit as a foundation for our hope. They advise us that hope is future oriented, and that Hope is the confident anticipation of that which will be; that which our Heavenly Father is pleased to lavish on us; that which the Holy Spirit has interceded for. Hope is of the Divine Trinity!
Save us, thy people, from consuming passion,
who by our own false hopes and aims are spent.]
THE PRAYERS:
The Lord be with you
And also with you.
And now, as our Saviour has taught us, let us pray
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.
V. Show us your mercy, O Lord;
R. And grant us your salvation.
V. Clothe your ministers with righteousness;
R. Let your people sing with joy.
V. Give peace, O Lord, in all the world;
R. For only in you can we live in safety.
V. Lord, keep this nation under your care;
R. And guide us in the way of justice and truth.
V. Let your way be known upon earth;
R. Your saving health among all nations.
V. Let not the needy, O Lord, be forgotten;
R. Nor the hope of the poor be taken away.
V. Create in us clean hearts, O God;
R. And sustain us with your Holy Spirit.
COLLECT PROPER 25
Almighty and everlasting God, increase in us the gifts of faith, hope, and charity; and, that we may obtain what you promise, make us love what you command; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and challenges of the day, we may not forget you. Grant that within the boundaries set for us, we may find mutual benefit and true fellowship, and that as we act sensibly and sensitively one with another, we may experience full health and wholeness as you intend;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Your grace and mercy, brought us through
We’re living this moment because of you
We want to thank you, and praise you too
Your grace and mercy, brought us through.
The Dismissal:
Glory to God whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine: Glory to him from generation to generation in the Church, and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20, 21
The Lord be with you
And also with you.
Let us bless the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
