People around the Caribbean are wondering if the Trump administration will attack Venezuela? The answer is we don’t know.
What we do now is that the alleged drug ships are being blasted out of the water at a rapid clip. There have been six strikes, killing 27 people so far by latest media accounts.
But, we ask: What did Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro expect?
Remember when the Venezuelan military tried to intimidate an EXXONMobile by making an incursion into Guyanese waters back in March? Ah, how quickly we forget!!!
US President Trump is letting Maduro know, whenever it is you want to jump against a US interest, especially an interest as big as the oil industry, we will be ready to tell you when you are able to come down. We can bomb your little fishing vessels and drug boats and there is not a soul on earth that can save you aside form the grace of God. Not Russia, not China, not anyone.
Maduro looked for this all on himself. He let his bravado get the better of him by even going near a US oil tanker. What in the world was he thinking? He must have lost his mind.
So, while the Trump administration is flirting with human rights abuses and war crimes, fact is sometimes you have to punch people in the mouth. Maduro will never attack a US oil tanker in the Caribbean at any time. Not now and not ever.
