The AI craze has now hit the Caribbean. We don’t know anything behind it, but we know it is making life easier for anyone connected to the internet
The thing is, no one knows how deep this AI rabbit hole will go? Will AI become fully sentient and assume dominance over human beings? If that becomes the situation, will human beings be able to shut it off?
AI scientists are already speaking as if they want the technology to be able to make decisions for them and plan their lives. Why on earth would any human want that? These people are crazy.
But, before we get too carried away, I have to remind people of the internet craze when it first began to become popular. People thought then it was the end of humanity and the internet would be the death of us.
Furthermore, I remember the cloning crazy. People thought the science would lead to bizarre experiments on man and beast after Dolly the sheep was cloned. But, the discussion and science on cloning has gone relatively silent. No one cares about clones taking over real-life human beings.
As for us, we have no problem with the use of AI, its just that internet security should be paramount before we decide to let it be a part of our lives in a closer and more meaningful way.
