The University of the West Indies Development and Endowment Fund (UWIDEF) continued the success of its Vocal Recital Series on Saturday, September 12, 2026, with a sold-out evening celebrating exceptional vocal artistry, shared purpose and the transformative power of giving at the Residence of His Excellency Guillaume Pierre, Ambassador of the French Republic.
Soprano En Récital, the second recital in the three-part UWIDEF Vocal Recital Series, brought together patrons of the arts, members of the diplomatic corps, corporate leaders, educators, philanthropists and supporters of higher education in support of student bursaries and scholarships at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus.
Held under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency Guillaume Pierre, the evening provided an intimate and elegant setting for an exceptional musical experience. Guests were welcomed into the Ambassador’s Residence, which was transformed for the occasion with sophisticated décor, atmospheric lighting and carefully curated elements that complemented the evening’s artistic programme
The evening featured acclaimed soprano Ms. Natalia Dopwell accompanied by collaborative pianist Mr. Jessel Murray. Together, they presented a captivating programme that showcased the beauty, versatility and emotional depth of the soprano repertoire.
An exceptional culinary offering by Chef John Aboud and the Aioli team added to the evening’s elegant atmosphere, with a selection of thoughtfully curated food stations enjoyed by guests throughout the event. Patrons also savoured premium wines courtesy of More Vino, alongside refreshing non-alcoholic beverages featuring VIVA from S.M. Jaleel & Company Limited.

The UWIDEF Vocal Recital Series concludes on Saturday, November 21, 2026, with soprano LeAndra, bringing the inaugural series to a spectacular finale, uniting exceptional artistry with the UWIDEF’s commitment to student success. Proceeds from the series will continue to support student bursaries and scholarships at The UWI, St. Augustine Campus.
