“The Secrets I Could Not Of Told,” is an upcoming book of poetry about a personal journey through pain and disappointment and the triumph that follows.
Elle Glascow, aspiring author of this upcoming book of poetry, told Caribbean Magazine Plus that this book of poems are very personal and they are very much reality and personal
“That’s basically talking about myself at the form of the book”
Glascow has been pecking at this compilation of poems since 2016 but got distracted along the way, thinking no one would be interested in her writing. “I questioned myself a lot and I think I disappointed myself,” she said.
She continued: “Mostly because I have hard believing in myself and going that extra mile. Even I keep doubting myself I am very much proud of myself
“To be honest every time I feel down and not good I have a motivation on my desk at work that reminds me I can do this,” pointing to her Caribbean Magazine Plus 2024 Poetry Contest 2nd place certificate. “This helps and keeps me motivated more than ever!”
Glascow also said: “All of these poems are based on my life. I call them my little, short stories. So, they are very personal and trust me when I go to read them over, they make me tear up because they are personal and describe my relationships and my life.”
Glascow can only write based on the moment and when her heart is at peace. Then she finds the perfect words and starts her writing. “So that’s why this book means a lot to me and I really don’t want to be judged over my poems because they are my short reality stories I will be sharing publicly with the world.”
She also said: “From young I wanted to write a book, but I said if I do, my family will get upset and won’t want to talk to me again so instead I did poems
“Because I hold in a lot and don’t speak much. Family friend abused me sexually over and over when I was 7.
Glascow also said: “When I post a short story on Facebook about it just to release myself a bit. Only about the molestation and the abuse I have encountered, my sibling called me and cursed me off so bad and stinks then telling me how they supposed to feel walking the road now”
“Through that I did stop writing and hardly post on my fb because they made me felt like shit
“So that’s half of it and I refused to write the book because I will be hated just for expressing myself.”
