Today is Good Friday. We are at the end of our Lenten season and into Easter and the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
There is an old saying to not do any work on a Good Friday or else it would be bad luck. Be ye warned.
But, more importantly, be mindful of the pain and scorn Jesus went through today on the way to the Cross. It was a terrible scourging and humiliating experience that one could find it hard to imagine that one man endured just for our salvation.
That is the key message for Good Friday. Jesus did all of that for us. No other prophet in any other religious book or text explicitly did that for their followers. Not Bhudda, not Mohammed, not even Moses or King David, but only Jesus Christ did that for humanity. How grateful we all should be that he loved us that much.
Have a great Easter weekend.
