CATFISH!… EVERYBODY EATING! — A Taste of Theatre, Laughter and Life

October 16, 2026

On a great, cool — and somewhat hot — evening, RS/RR Productions Theatre headed South to the Naparima Bowl with its latest theatrical offering, CATFISH!… EVERYBODY EATING!

I attended the production on Sunday, 4 October 2026, accompanied by my friends Wesley and Morin, who were both in high spirits and ready to enjoy an evening of theatre.

I was particularly excited to see this production because, quite frankly, the title had me curious: Why are they eating catfish? That question alone was enough to get me through the doors and into my seat.

From the moment I arrived, there was a wonderful buzz in the air. The atmosphere around the Naparima Bowl was filled with anticipation, smiles and excitement as members of the audience gathered to experience what RS/RR Productions had prepared.

The production was well written, entertaining and sprinkled with a touch of theatrical magic. It kept me at the edge of my seat because I was eager to discover how everything would unfold — and, more importantly, to finally understand what this whole “Everybody Eating” business was about!

The comedy, drama, characters and overall presentation came together nicely. There were plenty of moments that made me smile and laugh, and the production was executed with a good measure of glitz, humour and theatrical flair.

Most importantly, the production had me engaged from beginning to end.

The Cast

I would now like to acknowledge the talented cast members who brought CATFISH!… EVERYBODY EATING! to life and helped create that special magic that live theatre brings to an audience.

Leslie-Ann Lavine — The Fish Queen from La Fillette

Leslie-Ann Lavine certainly commanded attention as The Fish Queen from La Fillette.

She portrayed a woman who appeared very much in charge of her girls, her business and her surroundings. Her confidence and stage presence kept me engaged whenever she appeared.

Leslie-Ann, you did quite well. Congratulations on your excellent portrayal. You certainly brought the character to life, and I must admit, you made me feel as though I wanted to become a member of your Lorna’s Fish Market — Everybody Eating team!

Arnold “Pinny” Goindhan — Inspector Bisnath Deonarine John

Arnold “Pinny” Goindhan gave us an entertaining portrayal of Inspector Bisnath Deonarine John — a rather sly, talkative and somewhat naive investigator who seemed determined to figure things out, even when he wasn’t quite sure what was happening.

His innocent approach to the character made him particularly entertaining. He brought humour to the role and had the audience paying attention whenever he appeared.

Pinny, you did a good job. Keep it up! I look forward to seeing you on stage again. As always, you brought your own flavour to the role.

Benita Wilson — Sasha

Benita Wilson delivered a confident performance as Sasha.

I have seen you on stage before, and once again, you demonstrated that you know how to command an audience. Your dancing ability and stage presence added another dimension to your performance.

You portrayed Sasha with confidence and essence, and you brought an interesting balance to the character.

Benita, you did quite well. Thank you for the wonderful performance, and continue doing what you do best on the stage.

Nicholas Subero — The Priest

Nicholas Subero brought plenty of personality to his portrayal of The Priest.

His performance, particularly his interaction with social media and his determination to get his money while doing his job, provided some memorable comedic moments.

He managed to captivate me with the way he approached the character and delivered his lines.

Nicholas, you played the role well, and there were moments when you certainly had me laughing. Keep up the great work, my friend. I look forward to seeing you back on stage again.

Meegan Dass — Anjenie

Meegan Dass gave a very engaging performance as Anjenie.

Her character’s somewhat naive nature was balanced by a genuine sense of love, passion and determination. She portrayed someone who was willing to do whatever it took to navigate a difficult situation in life.

And isn’t that something we can all relate to?

Sometimes circumstances influence the choices we make, and Meegan brought that reality to the character in a believable way.

You executed a great performance and kept my spirit alive — figuratively speaking!

Congratulations on a job well done.

Shivonne “Lil’ Bitts” Churche Isaacs — Pet

Wow, Lil’ Bitts!

As someone who has followed your music and admired what you have achieved throughout your career, seeing you on stage as an actress for the first time was quite a treat for me.

I honestly did not know you had this side of your talent!

You brought professionalism, confidence and personality to the role of Pet, and you handled the different elements of your performance very well.

You certainly surprised me, and I would love to see you on stage again.

Lil’ Bitts, congratulations on a job well done. Continue captivating your audiences with your charm and talent.

Andrew Friday — The Batman

Andrew Friday — Batman!

You stole the show!

Your performance brought a different energy to the production. The character’s approach was sly, calculated and somewhat unpredictable, and you managed to keep the audience wondering what you were really up to.

You captured the attention of the audience and delivered an entertaining performance.

Andrew, you did an awesome job as usual. I always enjoy seeing you on stage, so keep doing what you do.

And yes — Batman, you stole the show!

Congratulations. Well done, my friend, and I look forward to seeing you again on the stage.

My Overall Reflection

CATFISH!… EVERYBODY EATING! made me reflect on the role circumstances play in the decisions people make.

In life, we are constantly faced with choices. Sometimes we make the right ones, and sometimes we don’t. But whatever choice we make, there are consequences.

The production reminded me that circumstances may influence our decisions, but ultimately, we have a responsibility to make choices that can help us move forward.

That is one of the things I appreciate about theatre. A good production can entertain you, make you laugh and, at the same time, leave you with something to think about.

My Rating

I am giving CATFISH!… EVERYBODY EATING! 4 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐.

The production captivated me and gave me plenty to enjoy as an audience member. It also reminded me, as a writer, of the power of storytelling and the importance of bringing characters and situations to life in a way that connects with people.

To the entire cast, crew, production team and everyone involved in bringing CATFISH!… EVERYBODY EATING! to the stage — congratulations on a job well done!

You all gave the audience something to laugh about, think about and enjoy.

From one lover of the arts to the entire team, I tip my hat to you all.

Congratulations, RS/RR Productions Theatre.

Until the next curtain call — keep creating, keep entertaining and keep the magic of Trinidad and Tobago theatre alive!

Spread the love
