October 17, 2023

  • More than 100,000 jobseekers assisted with finding gainful employment
  • 36,000 subscribed to daily job notifications
  • 150 unique employers and nearly 61,000 unique job postings

For the last three years, Caribbean Employment Services Inc. has been faithfully doing its part to level up the labour market in the region. With a persistent drive to promote digital transformation while satisfying a need for more substantial talent acquisition services within the region, Caribbean Employment has pursued its mission to support formal employment and sustainable business growth. Now, as it marks another successful year of operation, CEO Joseph Boll says the organization is excited about the way forward.

“Since our launch in 2020, we’ve done some amazing work in the Caribbean,” he says. “We’ve helped dozens of people find their dream job and dozens of businesses find the best talent to fit their needs. It’s only going to get better from here.”

To mark the occasion, the recruitment service is extending a recently-launched promotion whereby businesses can post a digital job ad for free and receive the auxiliary support services that come along with it. Interested businesses and employers can access this promotion via the following link:

Over the last three years, some 107,000 Caribbean jobseekers have used the Caribbean Employment Services Inc. website to apply for jobs in their quest for gainful employment. On the platform, which is available free of charge to the Caribbean labour force, jobseekers are able to create a profile, search for jobs and apply for any that piques their interest. While some government organizations have launched similar platforms for job openings in the public sector, or in specific fields, Caribbean Employment Services Inc. remains one of the few platforms where job vacancies from public, private or non-profit, from any country and in any field are readily available for jobseekers to peruse.

Jobseekers can also take advantage of a free notification service, where they will receive an email of the latest job opportunities based on any search criteria they choose. This helps them be the first to know when a new job open to Caribbean workers becomes available, and better helps them apply right away to increase their chances of being hired. Thirty-six thousand people are currently taking advantage of this, receiving custom job alert emails from Caribbean Employment Services Inc. every single day.

The organization, which is headquartered in Barbados, has also partnered with more than 150 diverse, high-quality employers based in various Caribbean countries, the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom in the three years since its launch. Its partners have included notable, well-known employers and small and medium-sized businesses alike.

“We want to fill a need for seamless, reliable and digital talent acquisition that is rare in the Caribbean, giving all reputable employers a chance and not just focusing on notoriety,” says Boll, acknowledging that SMSEs collectively account for the largest share of formal employment in the Caribbean region.

This digital upgrade is long overdue in many Caribbean countries, where the process of job hunting, recruiting and hiring is still often archaic and inefficient, frustrating jobseekers. Through Caribbean Employment Services Inc., Boll hopes to bring recruitment in the region into the 21st Century, showing businesses how much they can save time, money and human capital, as well as access a wider talent pool, by taking the process online.

“We’ve come a long way and helped so many since our launch, and we’re excited to continue that growth in the years to come,” Boll says.
