Montage International Hotels and Resorts broke ground on their $352m luxury resort on Montage Cay, Abaco in The Bahamas on Monday with an opening date for late 2024.
The Montage Brand, known as a luxury hotel and resort brand, is also planning further Caribbean expansion within the next 60 days as its chief executive, Alan Feurstman, told Caribbean Magazine Plus: “We have intention to go to other parts of the Caribbean within the next 60 days,” but he did not disclose which island Montage will be taking its brand to.
Mr Feurstman also said: “Our commitment to training and to working closely to develop and mentor an incredible staff and team that will make this a beacon of hospitality for the not just for the region, but for the entire world. This is one of those destinations when you visit it’s unmatchable.”
The Abaco Montage Cay resort is the first Montage International development to hit the Caribbean and is expected to be a “beacon of hospitality,” Mr Feurstman also said.
The resort is being part funded by the Sterling Global Financial who has part equity in the project. David Kosoy, Sterling Global Financial’s chairman, also said at the event that the development will have 200 rooms and have the capacity to have 500 guests staying at the resort at any given time. “We have over 50 hotel keys and suites and about 1,000 square feet for one room…. We will have seven beaches and the beaches are amazing.”
The 33 acre Montage luxury island is poised to become a major attraction and elevate the Bahamas’s luxury resort profile.
Featuring a world class deep and deep water marina a 50 suite Hotel and exclusive residences, Montage Cay is set to make a big stir in the Caribbean market.
There is a $352.2m investment fund for this project which includes 50 room keys, six overwater bungalows, 18 villas and 29 residential lots.
