California-based Jamaican dancehall artist Navino, given name Ricardo Fraser, has teamed up once again with A’Legends CEO Jenelle Alexia on a new track. Titled ‘Gonna Be’, this follow-up single to their previous song ‘Exclusive’ on Jenelle Alexia’s Bankx Riddim in 2024, is geared towards the younger generation with its powerful message.
Jenelle Alexia’s music label A’Legends Productions co-produced ‘Gonna Be’ alongside SchemeYute Entertainment. It will be released on Friday, September 4th on all major platforms with distribution via OneRPM.
As schools begin to reopen in Jamaica, the motivational song is aimed at the youth of the island nation hoping to achieve success this academic year. ‘Gonna Be’ may also inspire people of all ages to be whatever they want to be in life. It relays a message of hope for the resilient to remain strong during these tumultuous times.
“Dare to dream!” Jenelle Alexia says. “Build on whatever skill set, talent or knowledge you may have.”
“If you want to become an artist, do it.” Says Navino. “If you want to sell clothes and shoes, do it. Just don’t do anything illegal or against God’s laws. Stay focused and true to yourself. Trust and believe. You’re ‘Gonna Be’ what you wanna be.”
Navino capitalizes on his melodic vocals and meaningful lyrics with ‘Gonna Be’, emphasizing on making it catchy enough to grab a child’s attention. Pairing it with the production value of Jenelle Alexia’s vision for the song, takes it beyond its capabilities of what kind of impact it may have once it’s officially released.
