EDITORIAL: Drug boats still being bombed, but Maduro has been captured

February 20, 2026

The US Military is still obliterating suspected drug boats in the Caribbean- and now Pacific- waters. When will it stop? No one knows. We just urge fishermen and other boaters to be wary of their cargo and the places they make stops because it may become a problem.

But, the thing is, Nicolas Maduro, the ousted former president of Venezuela, is now in US custody. He was the primary target that prompted the US military strikes on suspected drug dealers. What does this mean now?

Only one thing, and that is another leader in Latin America is at risk of being deposed and captured, or may be, at the worst end of it, assassinated.

We don’t have a crystal ball. But it is clear the US is not letting up on drug trafficking into its country by way of Latin America and the Caribbean. And, what is making this worse is that the media reportage is making it seem as if China has a hand in this along with countries like Mexico, particularly with regard to synthetic fentanyl.

What a time to be alive in these wild times.
