What is happening at the Organisation of American States top level is a little concerning. Two of its top officials are embroiled in scandal foisted upon them by anonymous sources over the internet, the commentary by Sir Ronald Sanders reveals.
There has been no completed investigation or earlier reports of any wrongdoing by any of the men mentioned in Sanders’ piece, just attack jobs from internet sources. For all we know it could be AI driven content.
It’s disheartening that people have to throw rocks and hide behind bushes. More importantly, if the allegations are so serious, and from what we understand they are criminal to a large degree, then why would the person hide behind anonymous postings and articles?
This is the seedy part of the internet that breaks your heart at times. We are not taking up for any individual that Sanders mentioned, we don’t know any of them from a can of paint. What we are doing is standing up for integrity in the media and we call for the revelation of the anonymous writer. We also call for their claims to be thoroughly investigated too. The OAS deserves that clarity in order to clear the reputation of the organization.
We believe that the transition in the OAS is what it is, a mere transition. It will settle down with or without the persons being smeared at this time, but we hope that the truth comes out regardless of where the chip lands.
