The lightly anticipated COP30 conference being held in Brazil is going out with barely a whimper. It has no “oomph,” to it. There is nothing sizzling about it this year. Such a far cry from the ballyhooed COP28 where all of the big guns came out, from Kings, Presidents, to the activists from all corners of the earth.
Why have we lost the fervor of the environment in just a few short years? A lot can be said about that. But, whatever it is, it is noticeable. We cannot just blame the US Trump administration. While he controls the most powerful country on the planet, he does not control the entire world.
Be that as it may, the only salient issue that is being address and needs to be addressed is getting the financial institution on board to tailor make financing options for a cleaner planet. A lot of this is over the head’s of most people, just like the complexities of the climate problem above the head’s of most people. We are just going to have to trust the people in charge as they break down the issues.
It will get better.
