So, the US has issued an indictment for Jimmy “Barbecue” Cherizier, the notorious Haitian gang leader responsible for mass chaos and deaths in the island country.
We believe he is low hanging fruit. There are much more notorious people causing chaos in Haiti. But, such is what the US along with its media, wishes to focus on.
There are so many ways we can analyze this recent move by the US. It may be a first step towards doing something about the chaos in Haiti, or it could be a mask over the real issue. The real issue is that there is an oligarchy that pays for and allow gangs led by the likes of Barbecue to run rampant over the people.
The oligarchy is what Barbecue has been fighting against for the past three years since the late president Moise was assassinated and the country fell apart.
About Moise’s death, the name of the notorious doctor who was said to be behind the assassination has not been spoken about at large. It may just be allegations, but why is their name being kept so silent?
We pray for Haiti. We believe it will stabilize one day and that righteous leadership will come to the forefront.
