We often tend to forget that there are still several wars ongoing in the world. We know about the major ones in the Ukraine and Iran, but there is sill the Syrian Civil War, the Sudanese Civil War, Israel’s incursion into Palestine and Lebanon, which is seen as an extension of the larger middle east conflict with Iran.
We also have the Myanmar Civil War, along with the jihadist insurgencies and political instability spanning Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, and neighbouring West African called the Sahel Insurgencies.
WE are so blessed to be in the Caribbean where we don’t have to be bothered with living in fear and war. We can rest in relative peace knowing that there are no drones over our heads and no armed militias at our front door willing to drag us off to our executions.
The Caribbean is sure blessed. It makes out complaints about the rising price of oil and gas seem so trite. How dare we complain about the price of gasoline when people are being killed all over the world? Fact of the matter is, we don’t have to feel guilty for our lifestyle. In fact, it should be more of the reason for us to be grateful that we have what we have built.
So, ride out the wars, dear friends. And pray for those who are having to endure.
