The Nevis Tourism Authority proudly participated as an event sponsor at Caribbean in the Countryside 2026, held in the United Kingdom. Representing the destination was Julie Claxton, Sales Manager (UK & Europe) and Airline Liaison, supported by Clear Marketing, the UK-based travel trade sales office for Nevis. Together, they showcased the island to an audience of influential luxury travel professionals at this dedicated Caribbean-focused trade event.
Hosted at Nailcote Hall, a 17th-century country house hotel in Warwickshire, the event provided an immersive retreat-style session designed to connect Caribbean destinations and hospitality partners with a select group of luxury travel advisors. The format encouraged in-depth destination discovery, allowing agents to learn more in a relaxed yet productive environment.
As part of its sponsorship, Nevis supported the afternoon tea and coffee break, offering an ideal opportunity to engage directly with all 30 travel agents in attendance. The agents had been carefully selected based on their strong interest in Caribbean destinations and their proven success in selling the region to clients. The event’s location in Warwickshire, within England’s West Midlands, also provided access to travel advisors whose client base includes members of the Nevisian diaspora.
Throughout the event, Nevis branding was prominently displayed, including large pop-up banners and destination materials. Each attendee received a Nevis travel guide and a branded bag, ensuring the island remained front of mind following the event.
The Nevis Tourism Authority held productive discussions with agents representing a range of respected travel companies including Travel Four Seasons, The Travel Directors, Not Just Travel and Travel Counsellors. The team also connected with Aspire Luxury Travel Club’s Luxury Travel Seller of the Year, Ross Johnson of TravLux, as well as Emma Shaw, who previously visited the destination on a St. Kitts & Nevis familiarisation trip and has since successfully sold holidays to Nevis.
Encouragingly, conversations with one Travel Counsellor also highlighted potential new opportunities for niche travel segments. The advisor expressed interest in bringing a group of international marathon runners to participate in the Nevis Marathon & Running Festival, demonstrating the island’s appeal for experiential and event-led travel.
In total, the event welcomed 30 luxury travel agents and 20+ suppliers, including Caribbean destinations, luxury hotel groups and premium cruise lines. By bringing together key partners from across the region, Caribbean in the Countryside provided a valuable platform to strengthen relationships within the UK travel trade.
Participation in this event reflects the Nevis Tourism Authority’s ongoing commitment to nurturing and expanding its presence within the UK market and to supporting travel advisors who play a vital role in promoting and selling the destination.
