Many political figures from Grenada and throughout the world, have been poisoned over the years and there’s those who believe the attacks or the crimes was politically motivated.
So was the death by poisoning of Neilon Franklyn another politically motivated assassination, meant to derail his impact on pushing our youths to vote for the political party he represented, the New National Party (NNP) as a young official prominent Cabinet member?
Neilon Franklyn dying should influence anyone looking to have a positive impact on the youths vote in a general election.
His death is highlighting the lack of concern within the present government over solving the reasons.
This case together with Jonte Robinson has brought national attention to the country’s issue with unsolved murders that are controversial.
His death is highlighting the fragile state of democracy in a country that has seen the untimely death of countless politicians, including the murders of Grenada’s own former leader Maurice Bishop and his entire cabinet.
We have to ask the question, what happened to Neilon Franklyn?
Neilon was a brilliant young politician, whose impact on our youths and his political influence was undeniable.
He inspired Grenadian youths, who took great pleasure, and was proud to listen and follow him.
He was a force to be reckon with, he made a difference, he was successful, and he had energy.
Neilon was a symbol of peace and freedom. He was bold and assertive in his ideas.
At this point, there’s very few who is able to reach out to the youths of Grenada in the same way he did. His interest was the youths and he made a difference in politics.
He represented a persistent hope for a better future, an inspiration for this and the next generation.
The NNP friends and family are still trying to process his death. He was a son, he was full of life, he had optimism, he was a person that was driven, a young man of great faith.
Neilon was innovative with what he was thinking about accomplishing with his political career. He displayed an element of strength, unlike others, and people appreciated him for that. When the NNP wins the youth votes, they can be certain to win elections.
Neilon was moving a lot of youths and he was organizing a lot of people who shared the NNP views. He was shaping most of the youths views on political issues affecting them. He stood tall for politics, and he knew that molding young minds was a plus for the NNP.
None other understood or had the hearts of the Young people in Grenada better than him. He was building an audience of the New National Party youth followers and listeners, when he was murdered in his prime.
He challenged political corruption. His death has left a legacy of suppressed reform and instability, but hopefully, his visions will also inspire a new generation of political activists and leaders.
His focus was on the unemployed, economic independence, social progress and empowerment.
A brilliant and charismatic political rising star. His death is seen as a tragic loss of a promising leader.
Neilon Franklyn contributions to the New National political party and his support for education, development and sports will be widely remembered.
His ideas, courage , determination, dedication and simplicity are admired and will continue to bring hope to young leaders of tomorrow. They can kill him, but his ideas will live on.
His mother pain and suffering is absolutely crushed . She and every Grenadian wants justice. Someone, somewhere knows who those responsible are. If it were your child who died, you’d want closure, you’d want to know the real reason behind his death.
The walls of silence, must be broken so that Jonty and Neilon’s family and loved ones can finally find closure and get some semblance of justice.
Franklyn’s death has caused great hurt and damage to his family, the society and his community.

American legendary Actor and Filmmaker , Tyler Perry, offered a reward of $100.000 dollars to anyone with information pertaining or relating to the cold blooded murder of Josiah “Jonty” Robinson, who was only 24 years at the time of his untimely death.
He was senselessly and viciously murdered , because of his sexuality, and as of today, his murder has not been solved.
The circumstances of Jonty’s murder remains a source of controversy. Those involved in his murder, must be held accountable and be brought to justice, for their actions. Whosoever was involved in his murder.
The people of Grenada want to know, what was the conclusion of the police investigation, or was it swept under the rug?
Those who commit murder, must be dealt with severely. They must never get another chance to repeat their vile and sickening actions.
The truth must be known.
The sad passing of Neilon Franklyn and murder of Josiah “Jonty” Robinson, must have closure. These and all unsolved murders in Grenada are too painful to be forgotten.
