EDITORIAL: Guyana is at peace during the election

September 2, 2025

Guyana went to the polls on Monday and all reports are that it was a relatively peaceful and smooth process. We thank God for that. Despite the shots fired across the Essequibo River at poll workers by Venezuelan belligerents, allegedly, it has been a good showing by Guyanese.

We wish the best for Guyana and their future and the country continue to reap the benefits of their oil boom.

Now we have the Jamaican elections set to be held on September 3. The parties have been campaigning vigorously and the leaders have participated in a public debate. We will update our readers on what happened in our Friday edition, but we wish Jamaicans all the best as well.

God be with the Caribbean.
