Contrary to the World Bank report on organized crime in its Latin American and Caribbean Economic Review that organized crime is running rampant in the LAC, the fact is that there is no leader or government that has held hostage or rumoured to be compromised by criminal actors.
While it is easy to say that organized crime is in every country, it is quite a different thing to say or allude that countries are steeped in the stew of criminality. It is borderline racist, to be totally honest with you.
Sure, there are gangs and drug cartels that as a western hemisphere we are working our hardest to try and combat. But everyone is working their hardest to interdict and arrest criminal actors when they can.
In no way, shape or form does anyone want to be tainted by the specter of criminality.
