The recent death of 11 year old Adrianna Younge, who was found dead, floating in a hotel pool has not been ruled as a sex assault case, investigators have said after autopsy.

The autopsy was conducted by international pathologists Dr Glenn A. Rudner, Dr Shubhakar Karra Paul and Dr Gary L. Collins.

No determination was made in relation to where the drowning took place, the attorney further related.

Reports that Younge was kidnapped from the Double Day Hotel in Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo during a fun day with her family, sparked outrage among family members and members of the public.

Enraged residents torched the Double Day hotel where Younge was found, burning it to the ground.

According to the information, inquiries revealed that last week, Younge went to Double Day Hotel pool to swim with her grandmother, Carol Xavier, who reported that around 1:10 pm, she gave Adrianna money to buy band to swim in the pool.

She said that shortly after that, the 11-year-old entered the pool with her siblings however after some time the grandmother called to get her family out of the pool when it was discovered Adrianna was missing.

Soon after that, the family launched a search party in the pool and hotel but were unable to locate her. The matter was then reported at Tuschen Police Station.

Reportedly, at one point the body of Younge was found in the pool after some time, but the family members and relatives had already set the Double Day Hotel on fire. It is not yet clear whether the victim drowned, or foul play was involved however sources claim that her body bore visible signs of injury and she had a badly bruised knee.

The authorities are now expected to conduct autopsy on the young girl to determine the exact cause of her death.

President Irfaan Ali has ordered a special investigation into what happened to Younge. “I have asked the Commissioner of Police to assemble a special team to lead the investigation into all the circumstances surrounding 11-year-old Adrianna Younge. We must uncover the full truth of everything that transpired, and no resource or effort will be spared in doing so. Whatever specialized resources are required to determine every aspect of the events and circumstances will be provided,” Ali said in a statement.
